Associate Senior FFE & Concept Interior Designer - $110 -$138k + Super - Sydney



Our client is an award winning international interior architecture and design practice, headquartered in London, with offices in the USA and Australia; working with high net-worth individuals, celebrities, and royalty, in addition to commercial clients.


They need someone who demonstrates, through every aspect of who they are, a leader, a passion love for design, art, and beauty.


Working to strict timeliness and with large budgets, you will need to be adept at scanning the market and levying your existing contacts to source items, negotiate excellent prices and ensure quality is in line with owner and brand expectations.


You will have already worked in a luxury residential, hospitality & retail sector for a minimum of 3 years with strong knowledge of the level of details and procurement involved. You must be a confident, loyal, trustworthy, dynamic & charming person who can hold their own with clients, suppliers, and project teams. 


Associate FF&E & Concept Interior Designer will be responsible for the following duties:  

• Plans & direct the operational activities of the FFE team & supervise staff

• Motivate and encourage internal & external design team

• Provide design vision & leadership

• Preparation and development of Concept Design, Construction Documentation & Detailing, Schedules & Specifications

• Develop detailed FFE specifications and execute the FF&E direction for overall project and communicate to the project team

• Leading design meetings and managing fee proposals and budgeting

• Leading creative and conceptual stages along with the Interior Design team

• Reviewing bespoke furniture technical drawings

• Interpreting client needs and completing detailed design concepts and contract documents

• Writing specifications covering interior design matters, and performing code reviews

• Attend site meetings and assist in the process of reviewing the project

• Effectively utilizing available technology to accurately record all revisions and reselections

 

Skills & Experience: 

For this position, it is expected that you would possess the following qualifications/work experience:


• Minimum Diploma level in Interior Design or similar

• A minimum of 3-5 years’ relevant industry experience

• Experience working on all stages of projects from concept to completion on site

• Experience in the management, sourcing, selection, and design of FF&E on a variety of project types Including hotels, restaurants, residential, etc

• Experience in managing large and complex FF&E budgets, procurement, and installations both national and international.

• Proficient and experienced in FF&E procurement and documentation

• Manage client expectation

• Knowledge of fabric and furniture suppliers essential

• Ability and elegance to deal independently and proactively with the design team, FF&E suppliers, and the client at an international level displaying excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

• Ability to establish logical action plans to complete work and provide technically sound solutions within deadline and budget constraints

• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Photoshop, AutoCAD, Smartsheet and InDesign to produce drawings, mood boards, presentation material

• Aptitude in Esti Pc for client budget proposal and the efficient procurement of all projects

• Strong ability to resolve issues utilizing sound judgement and reasoning skills

• Professional, ethical, and committed to excellence in communications

• Ability to employ creative and innovative thought processes

• Experience working overseas and understanding local regulations (experience working with the US, Asia, Middle East, and European market are both beneficial)

• Ability to travel regularly to sites in different part of the world
